The production and sale of Lufthansa Technik’s aircraft seat will be coordinated by Inairvation, their joint venture with F/List. This modular chair family received 9g and 16g ETSO approval in May 2016 and it can be ordered now.
The Original Equipment Innovation (OEI) division of Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg, Germany, looks after all airworthiness requirements as well as final certification. F/List will handle the production of the skeleton as well as all the rigid surfaces at its location in Thomasberg, Austria.
According to Oliver Thomaschewski, who heads the seating and structures business unit at Lufthansa Technik’s OEI, the partnership between Lufthansa Technik and F/List is the ideal solution to optimize cost efficiency, manufacturing experience and high-end craftsmanship.
Lufthansa Technik developed and certified the chair solution in partnership with Pierrejean Design Studio. The skeleton of the chair provides a backbone for custom- made aesthetic designs.
Customers can pick their own preferred suppliers for upholstery or depend on Inairvation partner Boxmark. Inairvation has submitted several bids and is expecting its first orders soon.
