Starling Aerospace has extended its design and manufacturing capability for the production of bespoke leather and fabrics
- A state-of-the-art three-in-one CNC machine for bespoke leather and fabric production
- Six-figure investment now enables seamless perforating, stitching, and embroidery processes
- Capabilities also include interior panels, fixtures, and fittings using prepreg carbon fiber
In response to a heightened demand for personalized aircraft interior refurbishment projects, catering to both private and commercial clientele, Starling Aerospace has significantly expanded its design and manufacturing capabilities through a substantial six-figure investment.
Situated conveniently between London Heathrow and Gatwick airports, this specialist in aircraft interiors has introduced a state-of-the-art three-in-one CNC machine. This versatile machine seamlessly integrates perforating, stitching, and embroidery processes.
In parallel, Starling has undertaken a comprehensive upgrade of its sewing shop, introducing six fully automated Juki sewing machines.
A noteworthy addition to Starling’s arsenal is the recent commissioning of its inaugural in-house autoclave. This advancement enhances the company’s fully integrated expertise, facilitating the fabrication of interior panels, fixtures, and fittings using prepreg carbon fiber.
By employing this reinforced material, pre-impregnated with a resin system and curing agent, Starling achieves the production of products with superior strength and reduced weight, consistently delivering a high-quality finish.
Coralie Wigg, Co-founding Director at Starling, expressed, “This significant machinery investment marks the most substantial upgrade in Starling’s capabilities since its establishment over two decades ago. The consolidation of various sewing tasks into a single CNC machine allows us to craft intricate designs for leather and fabric, meeting the demands of even the most complex requirements. Simultaneously, our in-house autoclave provides an agile solution for clients seeking a rapid project turnaround. With a growing trend toward fully bespoke interiors, Starling is well-positioned to meet the rising demand for increasingly exotic designs that our clients are seeking.”
In addition to its prowess in design and fabrication, Starling Aerospace seamlessly manages aircraft interior modifications, re-certification, and installation, providing a comprehensive end-to-end service to its discerning customers.
