Andrew Winch Designs and China Business Aviation Group (CBAJet) recently launched Project Mayfair, a set of aircraft interiors that will be modeled after some of London’s luxurious hotels.
Specifically created for Boeing Business Jet and Airbus Corporate Jet VIP narrowbodies, the interior will combine a bespoke Savile Row tradition with the advantages of a standardized design. This will result in lower costs and faster turnaround of the aircraft to the customer.
The interior of the Mayfair project will feature dark high-gloss veneers, golden onyx, Qing upholstery and leatherwork, satin almond gold fixtures and Loro Piana cashmere. The customer can also add their own touch by choosing materials and textures to their personal tastes.
The main cabin space will feature a circular dining table and a skylight above a circular bar area along with angled bulkheads that creates a dramatic entrance. The dining table easily converts into a Mahjongg table while the lounge and main cabin area can be turned into an office, cinema or used for a variety of other purposes. The rear cabin includes a VVIP master suite and bathroom.
The exterior of the aircraft is not ignored as it will portray a “youthful aesthetic” of the design concept while creating a “high ramp presence”.
