Airbus Corporate Jet Centre introduces AviationGlass brand new UV resistant glass technology in its VIP cabins
AviationGlass & Technology has recently reached an agreement with Airbus Corporate Jet Centre (ACJC) to offer a new standard in business aviation.
The complete range of glass and mirrored glass products offered by AviationGlass & Technology BV will be introduced for the first time in an Airbus ACJ320 corporate jet, and will substantially improve the level of quality, and comfort that corporate jet customers have come to expect.
The crystal-clear, UV resistant glass enriches the in-flight experience, creating a heightened feeling of space and elegance. In addition to being 20-25% lighter than its polycarbonate alternative, the superior damage and scratch-resistance of the glass in all aircraft applications meets growing industry demands to reduce life-cycle costs by developing more sustainable aviation materials and equipment.
“We are honoured ACJC has chosen our technology to uphold its leadership and excellence in corporate aviation. The collaboration is a milestone in the market recognition of the AviationGlass product range and provides a stepping stone to further market penetration in the corporate and commercial jet segments,” says Frans van Hapert, CEO of AviationGlass & Technology.
Benoit Defforge CEO of Airbus Corporate Jet Centre (ACJC), comments: “ACJC always seeks to pursue proven advances in aerospace technologies to deliver real benefits to our customers. Our team worked closely with AviationGlass & Technology to introduce this cutting edge technology in business aviation and we believe AviationGlass is the way forward in offering a unique experience on board our exclusive corporate jets.”
AviationGlass & Technology will supply the Aviation Glass and Mirror Glass to the Airbus Corporate Jet Centre by the end of 2013. The Airbus ACJ320 corporate jet will be delivered for the first time to the private customer by early next year with this new technology.
