Jet Aviation Basel has sent a team of maintenance technicians from the completions center to receive EASA Part 66 B1/B2 type training on the Boeing 787 composite jetliner at Boeing’s facility in Seattle.
“The all-composite structures of the Boeing 787 present a unique set of requirements for interior completions,” said Neil Boyle, Jet Aviation Basel’s vice president and general manager for the completions center.
“A priority for us is to further our employees’ understanding of and training in advanced aviation technology to ensure we meet customer requirements and the highest business aviation standards. We have invested heavily in the new technologies of the Boeing 787 to master their impacts on the completions process for VIP aircraft and will continue to devote resources to [train] our employees.”
Jet Aviation engineers have already completed an advanced 787 structural repairs training course provided by Boeing.
In August 2007, Jet Aviation signed a letter of intent with an unidentified client from the Middle East that would send the first private Boeing 787 to the company’s Basel, Switzerland center for cabin completions.
