Several sources are reporting that the Qatari Government had directed AMAC Aerospace to sell its Boeing 747-8 aircraft which as of writing is reported sold by AMAC.
The aircraft manufactured in 2012 for the Qatar government’s Amiri Flight, entered service in 2015 following completion by AMAC Aerospace, Basel.
The aircraft powered by General Electric GEnx-2B engines, had logged just 200 cycles, covering 436h, to 27 March this year.
The Head-of-State aircraft was outfitted by AMAC Completions in VVIP configuration and was delivered with a fully outfitted VVIP cabin in July 2015, which made AMAC the first completion center in the world to re-deliver a fully outfitted B747-8i in VVIP configuration.
According the press-release of the time – the aircraft featured installed additional water tanks, showers, beds, galleys, custom furniture, monuments, exotic materials, and bespoke artwork to name but a few.
The design of the aircraft interior allowed for easy flow of passenger mobility throughout the cabin as with plenty of storage space and high end technical equipment, including live TV, SATCOM.
In June 2016 the aircraft was returned to service after its first annual maintenance event – also performed by AMAC Aerospace in Basel, Switzerland.
