At the NBAA 2015, the Cessna Aircraft Company, announced a new large business jet called the Citation Hemisphere with an expected range of 4,500 nm (8,300 km) with a maximum speed of Mach 0.9. The first flight for the Hemisphere is expected in 2019 with an expected price tag of $35 million US.
The Hemisphere will join the Latitude and Longitude jets to comprise a large-cabin, three-aircraft Citation family. The Latitude is already in service with a range of 2,850 nm (5,280 km) and the Longitude is expected in 2017 with a range of 3,400 nm (6,300 km).
The Citation Hemisphere will feature the widest cabin in its class at a fuselage diameter of 102 in (2.6 m) and a capacity to seat 12 passengers. The large multi-zone cabin and flying range will make this a viable option for VIP customers that makes regular travel between continents.
“Over the last 20 years customers in this segment have seen little innovation or investment in new products as their business needs and mission requirements have continued to evolve,” said Ernest. “The Citation Hemisphere is designed to transform this segment, offering customers the latest technology available and the widest cabin in its class.”
