Boeing Business Jets announced the first sale of the BBJ Max 9 at the Paris Air Show for an an undisclosed European customer. Boeing has already sold four of the Max 8 version since its introduction in April 2014.
The Max versions of the 737 have improved engines and split scimitar winglets that can boost fuel efficiency of up to 14%. The Max 8 model has a length of 129 ft 8 in / 39.5m and the Max 9 stretches to 138 ft 4 in / 42.2m. Both models have the same wingspan and height.
According to Boeing Business Jets president David Longridge, The BBJ Max offers “lower fuel use, increased range capability, updated flight deck, lower noise and reduced emissions…to better meet the diverse needs of our VIP customers.”
