Greenpoint Technologies have been awarded a patent for its Aeroloft design.
The product designed for Boeing 747-8 BBJ aircraft provides a rest area away from the main deck during flight; features a customized stairway leading to eight private sleeping berths and an optional changing room with a closet; and is located above the main deck, between doors four and five of BBJ 747-8 aircraft.
To date Greenpoint has sold five Aerolofts, four of which have been delivered thus far.
“This is a milestone achievement for Greenpoint, following nearly 10 years of development, production, installations and testing,” said Bret Neely, executive vice president at Greenpoint. “The Aeroloft truly is an efficient use of space on any BBJ 747-8 aircraft. It is an excellent example of Greenpoint’s collaboration with an OEM to design an innovative solution for our joint clientele.”
The company also offer the aerolift product, which is a escalator lift from the ground into the aircraft, in close proximity to the aeroloft stairway.
The Aeroloft is built in-house at Greenpoint’s structures manufacturing facility in Marysville, Washington.
